Rahul Sharma, a 24-year-old former Hong Kong under-19 cricketer and exercise physiologist, will run the length of Sri Lanka from Point Pedro to Dondra Head between December 24 and 30 to raise funds for childhood cancer research.
The 574-kilometer (357-mile) challenge will see Sharma cover roughly 100 kilometers per day, aiming to raise at least A$20,000 for the Sydney-based Children’s Cancer Institute. Hong Kong charity Erase Poverty has pledged additional support if he completes the run.
Sharma, born in Hong Kong and now based in Melbourne, hopes his endurance feat will inspire others while supporting children fighting cancer.
