Global SDG Initiative: Creating Impact Through Collaborative Action

March 27, 2026

The Rotaract Club of Imperial College of Business Studies proudly participated in an inspiring international initiative alongside several Rotaract clubs across the globe. The project brought together Rotaractors from diverse regions including the Rotaract Clubs of Adithya, Beau Bassin Rose Hill, Bucuresti Nord, Cinnamon Gardens, Finot, Imperial College of Business Studies, Matale, NIBM Kandy, Panadura, Sai Balaji Education Society, Selbe, University of Professional Studies Accra, and Vibrants.
The primary objective of this collaborative initiative was to contribute towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As part of the project, each participating Rotaract club committed to completing at least two initiatives that aligned with the SDGs, thereby collectively promoting sustainable development and social impact within their respective communities.

Turtle Time – Supporting Marine Life Conservation
One of the initiatives conducted by the Rotaract Club of Imperial College of Business Studies was “Turtle Time.” Through this project, members visited a turtle sanctuary with the aim of supporting marine life conservation efforts. Rotaractors actively engaged in learning about the protection and preservation of sea turtles while assisting the sanctuary in its ongoing efforts to care for and safeguard these endangered species.
The project provided members with valuable insight into environmental conservation while contributing towards the protection of marine ecosystems. By supporting the sanctuary’s work, the initiative helped raise awareness about the importance of preserving marine biodiversity and protecting vulnerable wildlife.

Click & Sell – Empowering Future Digital Entrepreneurs
The second initiative conducted by RACICBS was “Click & Sell,” an online workshop designed to empower individuals with the knowledge and skills needed to start and manage an online business.
The session was conducted via Google Meet and featured two distinguished guest speakers from Daraz: Mr. Dhanushka Chathuranga, Senior Manager of Business Development, and Mr. Insaaf Zaif, Key Account Manager for Mass Sellers and Marketing Solutions. During the session, the speakers shared valuable insights into the world of e-commerce, guiding participants on how to build an online platform and successfully launch and manage a digital business.
The workshop provided participants with practical knowledge about the growing opportunities within the e-commerce industry and encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs to explore online business ventures.
Creating Global Impact Together
Through these initiatives, the Rotaract Club of Imperial College of Business Studies contributed towards meaningful global action aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. The collaboration between Rotaract clubs from different countries demonstrated the power of international partnerships in creating sustainable change and empowering communities worldwide.
By combining environmental conservation with digital entrepreneurship, RACICBS successfully delivered impactful projects that reflect the spirit of Rotaract: service, leadership, and global collaboration.
