Imperial College of Business Studies Convocation - 2018
The convocation 2018 of the Imperial College of Business Studies was held on 31st of October at the BMICH for the conferment of Postgraduates Degrees of the University of West of Scotland. The graduations witnessed over 150 students of Imperial obtain globally-renowned undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the field of Business Studies and Management offered by the University of West of Scotland. This event is one of the most significant events in the Imperial calendar and this year it takes on even a greater significance as it marks a very important milestone, the graduation of the very first batch. We offer our sincere congratulations to each and every member of this year’s graduating batch for the hard work, perseverance and diligence in achieving this milestone. The Best Performance Awards – BA (Hons) International Business & Finance was awarded to Wijemuni Ishara Umayangani Silva of the Colombo Branch and Dilushi Kavindhi Ruwanpathirana of the Kandy Branch. The degrees were conferred by Mr. Julien Machot who graduated from the University of La Sorbonne with Master Degree and CESCI Paris with MSc in International Trade, also a former Swiss Private Banker at EFG Bank, the fourth largest Swiss Private Banking group CEO of Verso Capital and the UAE Partner of Aldini AG. He was also the Guest of Honor at the event and delivered an inspiring speech on how to overcome hurdles in life and the significance of determination in the pursuit of success. Julien Machot, the Chairman of International Skill Development Corporation and Tom Mannapurathu, the Director of Strategy International Skill Development Corporation and several other academics of the University of West of Scotland graced the occasion together with a large gathering of the Imperial College staff and parents.
