One Click
“Unless and until our society recognizes cyber bullying for what it is, The suffering of thousands of silent victims will continue” Anna Chavez
We, the Year 1, Semester 2 full time students of The Imperial College of Business Studies, Colombo, have come up with the project “One click” as our CSR with an intention of not only making the world, a better place to live but also for you, to know that you’re a better person than you think.
We believe that the project “one click” would give everyone an opportunity to voice out and to stand for each other. We want the world to use every ‘one click’ they’ve got to build a better future.
We planned to implement our ideas through a talent show competition, ‘skills and thrills’ and a webinar, ‘netdrugged’.
As the name itself says, this is a competition for people over the age of 30 to showcase their skills and talents so that they get thrilled by exciting prizes. For this we came up with having a competition with 2 rounds where 3 contestants will be shortlisted by a panel of judges and among the three, whoever gets the most likes or comments on all our social Media platforms win the competition. Among the four categories, the best garden, the best dish, the best family picture and the best from the music category will be short listed.
This is a webinar that will have people discussing their very own experiences on cyber bullying and also a special guest explaining on how to overcome the situation and so on. We also made a questionnaire for the public to answer, so that we can get a better understanding about what people go through and to give an opportunity to those who experienced this to voice out, so that our younger generation and teenagers will know that it is always okay to speak up, and it’s not their mistake.
We planned on sharing a fact about cyber bullying daily on all our social Media platforms, to ensure that people are being aware about it.
We came up with these events to show the public that both positivity as well as negativity can be brought into our lives through social media, and that depends on that ‘one click’ we decide to click.
Which ‘one’ are you planning on to ‘click’?
