Organized as a collaborative initiative by multiple Rotaract clubs, including the Rotaract Clubs of American National College, APIIT, Colombo Fort, Colombo Metropolitan, Colombo Midtown, Colombo North, Colombo Uptown, Colombo West, Imperial College of Business Studies, ICBT, IIT, Kandy Metropolitan, Pan Colombo, Royal Institute of Colombo, and Wellawatta, the event served as a powerful platform to promote harmony among communities.
A Celebration of Unity Through Diversity
“Lailat” was designed as more than just an Iftar gathering—it was a celebration of diversity and mutual respect. Individuals from different religious and cultural backgrounds came together to break fast, engage in meaningful conversations, and share their perspectives in a warm and inclusive environment.
The event fostered a spirit of understanding and strengthened interfaith connections, highlighting the importance of coexistence and respect in today’s diverse society.
Through shared meals and open dialogue, participants were able to build bridges across cultural and religious boundaries.
Promoting Peace and Community Harmony
By encouraging individuals from various faiths to come together, “Lailat” reflected the core values of peace, tolerance, and inclusivity. The initiative provided a unique opportunity for participants to appreciate different beliefs while reinforcing the idea that unity can be achieved through dialogue and shared experiences.
Creating Lasting Impact
The success of “Lailat” stands as a testament to the power of collaboration and collective effort among Rotaract clubs. By working together, the clubs were able to create an impactful experience that not only celebrated Ramadan but also promoted interfaith harmony and social cohesion.
“Lailat” served as a reminder that despite our differences, shared moments of respect and understanding can bring people closer together, fostering a more inclusive and compassionate society.
