The Pride of Being Awarded for Our Contribution to Fostering Positive Change Across Sri Lanka

Going from strength to strength, Imperial College of Business Studies was recently honoured with two prestigious awards: the “Overall Sustainability Society Award” and the “Global Sustainability Gold Award for Sustainable Academic and Professional Education” by the ICSG Global Sustainability Recognition Awards 2025.

This accolade recognizes the college’s commitment to fostering positive change through over 60 CSR projects, all aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The projects encompassed a diverse range of initiatives, from improving educational infrastructure an

d supporting vulnerable communities to promoting animal welfare and reducing inequalities. However, this award is not only a recognition of the projects executed but also a testament to how Imperial College has seamlessly integrated CSR into its academic curriculum.

By teaching students about the SDGs and equipping them with practical skills such as project planning, budgeting, and soft skills development, the college ensures that its graduates are well-prepared to lead impactful initiatives. This holistic approach to combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience is what makes this recognition truly special to Imperial College of Business Studies.

These initiatives highlight Imperial College’s dedication to addressing both global and local challenges, ensuring sustainability remains at the core of its mission. Furthermore, the integration of sustainability into its academic framework equips students to contribute meaningfully to society.
